How should the light line become part of the step?
A visible illuminated step edge, a flush integrated light line and a removable connection for a mobile structure require different solutions. The product choice is therefore the first technical decision – not the complete system.
LED Step Profiles
Best suited when … the step edge itself should provide orientation and become the defined architectural termination of the tread.
SL1, SL2, SLR, SLD and BL cover different edge geometries, floor finishes and lighting effects. Profile length, connection position, light colour and system integration are configured for the individual project.
Recessed Step Lighting
Best suited when … the light line should sit flush with timber, flooring, a platform or another prepared surface.
Straight runs, curved sections and project-specific geometries can be coordinated with the construction detail. The result is a light line that becomes part of the architecture rather than an element placed on top of it.
Portable & Plug-in Step Lighting
Best suited when … seating tiers, platforms or access steps are moved, separated, stored or repeatedly assembled.
Step profiles, connection points, cable harnesses, power supplies and controls are coordinated around the actual movement and assembly sequence of the structure.

A finished specification is not necessary. Drawings, photographs, preliminary quantities or a short description are enough for the first technical assessment.
The profile is only one part of a reliable auditorium system.
Power supplies, circuit allocation, voltage drop, dimming, control, backup operation, cable routing and service access need to fit the actual building and operating concept.
Important: Backup-power capability does not automatically mean that a system constitutes compliant emergency or safety lighting. Required functions, operating time, interfaces and applicable local requirements are clarified for the individual project with the responsible specialist planners.
Different rooms place different demands on step lighting.
A theatre with very low house-light levels, a retractable auditorium and a premium cinema may use similar components – but they do not require the same system concept.
